PREREQUISITES

These are more 'recommendations' than pre-requisites, so don't be intimidated by them.
BASIC WRITING and DRAWING ABILITY

You don't need to be the worlds best writer or draftsman, just clear. This is a class on visual screenwriting and filmmaking. The ideal target has a third or fourth year level of art school drawing/illustration or equivalent (Basic figure drawing, perspective, composition, anatomy, design, illustration, etc.). That said, if you feel like you draw clearly enough to get going, you can refine your skills as you grow.

SEQUENTIAL DRAWING SOFTWARE

This isn't a class where you'll be taught to draw, or use a specific storyboarding software. You should already have a basic workflow you use for sketching and sequential imagery (Ex: Storyboard Pro, Photoshop/Bridge, TVPaint, Adobe Animate, Krita/Preview, etc). If you don't, it's not hard to build a basic free one with Krita and Preview. Sharpie level drawing is fine.

DIGITAL TABLET & STYLUS HARDWARE

You should have the ability to draw digitally (ipad with apple pencil, surface pro, Wacom Display, etc).

*If you prefer to work traditionally, I am willing to accommodate (all my first film projects were still in the paper and pin days). Fair warning though - studios will expect you to work digitally.

A/V RECORDING SOFTWARE

You need to be able to record your story pitches as videos, then upload them as movie files. Basic quicktime screen recording is fine.

STABLE INTERNET

This is an online class. You need the internet, and a connection that is stable. Hardwired fiber ethernet is much better than Wi-Fi. I'm not going to waste the rest of the classes time on bad connections or waiting for you to figure out why your video/audio isn't working.

WEBCAM & MIC

For live classes, you will be expected to have your Webcam ON at ALL times when we meet, and also a working mic for when you pitch and speak in discussions. No cam/mic, no class.

SYSTEM SPECS

Ensure your computer hardware (RAM, Storage, Graphics Card, etc) can handle the website, and any other apps you're using. Sequential imagery can eat up ram quickly so try flipping through 200-300 1920x1080 images (through preview or other app) just to be sure. If there's lag you may want to look into system upgrades.
